The event, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS), will be the occasion to present the latest Shadow report along with a set of recommendations on media freedom in Serbia

While celebrating the 30th anniversary of NUNS, the event is also an opportunity to present the latest Shadow report along with a set of recommendations prepared by NUNS and OBCT aimed at contributing to the chapter dedicated to media freedom of the Rule of Law Report which the European Commission will publish for the first time this year for candidate countries including Serbia.

After the report presentation, the President of NUNS will award honorary membership cards to individuals who have made an immeasurable contribution to the rule of law and media freedom in Serbia, followed by a reception, networking, and a concert of the journalists’ band ‘Radna grupa/Working group’.

Simultaneous translation from Serbian to English and from English to Serbian will be provided.

The shadow report and its recommendations are produced as part of the Media Freedom Rapid Response, a Europe-wide mechanism that tracks, monitors, and responds to violations of press and media freedom in EU Member States and candidate countries, with co-funding of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation within the “Transnational Advocacy for Freedom of Information in the Western Balkans – ATLIB”.
