The Lab focused on memory and media, two key topics in the contemporary analysis of politics and society in Southeast Europe. Students were equipped with both theoretical and practical tools, which they applied to the examination of specific case studies from different perspectives and methodological approaches.
The first part of the course introduced the concepts of public and collective memory concerning significant historical events in Southeast Europe. The second part centered on case studies of journalists who, due to their reporting on these events, became targets of threats and intimidation.
The students’ contributions are presented in chapters, each dedicated to a significant case study from three post-Yugoslav countries.
