Arbanasi is an ancient village in central Bulgaria, renown for its civil and religious medieval buildings. The Church of the Nativity, dating from the fifteenth century, houses a series of extraordinary frescoes painted between 1632 and 1649. The frescos portray more than 2 thousand religious scenes.
