The project aims to investigate the identity and cultural dynamics of recent history and the current cultural status and economic role of Italian communities in lesser-known settlement areas of Southeastern Europe such as Slavonia and Moslavina (Croatia), Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Romania, with particular attention to the role of women and within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The project is coordinated by the Institute for Minority Rights of Eurac Research and carried out with the contribution of the Unit for Analysis, Planning, Statistics, and Historical Documentation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, pursuant to Article 23-bis of Presidential Decree 18/1967. The partnership also involves, in addition to the Osservatorio Balcani Caucaso Transeuropa, the associations Bellunesi nel Mondo and Trentini nel Mondo.
