Dataharvest/EIJC, organised by Journalismfund.eu, is the most relevant networking event for investigative and data journalists in Europe.
Dataharvest/EIJC 2016 will take place in the charming city of Mechelen, 20 minutes outside of Brussels, on Friday 3, Saturday 4 and Sunday morning 5 June 2016, with a pre-conference Hackaton on Thursday 2 June.
Dataharvest EIJC was first organised in 2011, when some 30 journalists gathered in Brussels to exchange best practices and story ideas. In 2012, the number of participants more than doubled to about 95, a number that increased even further to 150 for the 2013 edition and to 194 people from 27 different countries in 2014.
The most recent edition, Dataharvest/EIJC 2015, saw some 270 people from 33 different countries attend. The venue is Thomas More Hogeschool in Mechelen, a city 20 minutes outside of Brussels and very easily accessible.
Several sessions of the event will be devoted to freedom of expression and are organised in collaboration with the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom ECPMF.
